Awareness and Prevention
Our goal is to see the Tucson community educated about the reality of sex trafficking and the complex nature of this abuse, and come together against the abuse and commercial exploitation of children in our city and everywhere.
If we focused solely on after-care for survivors of sex trafficking, traffickers will simply recruit and seduce more of the readily available and vulnerable victims. In order to prevent future exploitation and drive down the demand for commercial sex, Sold No More:
- Learns/Improves: Continually researches and reports on child sex slavery, including in southern Arizona.
- Empowers Youth: Brings the nationally-recognized AWARE curriculum to middle and high school students to educate them on the lures of traffickers, internet safety and pornography.
- Educates: Educates thousands of community members each year on the reality of sex trafficking and how they can join the fight to end it. We provide prevention education for students (AWARE Predator Protection Program), general awareness presentations, and college presentations.
- Trains: Educates and trains hundreds of youth professionals, healthcare providers, social services providers and those most likely to encounter victims of trafficking on how to recognize and most effectively respond to this abuse.
