Educate Youth about Trafficking
One of the absolute most important things we can do to prevent trafficking is to educate youth. As we empower young people to recognize the lures used by traffickers, we prevent future exploitation and increase the number of young people recognizing and responding to potential trafficking situations they encounter. Additionally, as we educate youth about commercial sex trade, we drive down future demand for commercial sex and add to the next generation of abolitionists.
Become an AWARE Facilitator
Our AWARE Predator Protection Program is led by passionate volunteer teachers who are willing to lead a presentation at least 1 time a month to middle and high school students. Becoming an AWARE facilitator does require training, but it is an incredibly powerful way to combat trafficking as you will be educating students on how they can avoid exploitation, recognize their vulnerabilities and empower them to support and help other youth. AWARE facilitators should be able to connect well with youth and be able to communicate well in a classroom or assembly setting. Learn more about AWARE and youth education HERE.
