Our Mission

The vision for Sold No More began more than 35 years ago when our Founder, Jerry Peyton, experienced the devastation of child sex trafficking in his own family. Sold No More was launched in 2010 when Jerry realized neither he nor his community in southern Arizona was aware of the extent of sexual exploitation of children in the U.S.

After beginning with training law enforcement and other professionals, our focus became providing prevention education for youth. Within a few years we were engaging 10,000 middle and high school students a year and were invited to the White House and the Capitol Building to advocate for making prevention education for youth a national priority

Our mission is to stop the sexual exploitation of our children by equipping parents, college-age adults, and those working with youth with tools that enable children to identify predators and protect themselves from sexual abuse.

Awareness

“We face a public health crisis on a global scale as the child exploitation threats have grown exponentially in scale, complexity, & dangerousness.” – US Department of Justice, 2023

Until we believe sex trafficking is happening in our backyards and come together to end this epidemic, it will continue to expand.

To engage the public we provide research-based information and presentations revealing that child sexual exploitation is taking place in our own communities, schools, churches, and homes.

Without public sentiment, nothing can be accomplished.  With it, we can do anything. – Abraham Lincoln

Prevention

“What is missing from the current conversation on sexual exploitation is our society’s responsibility to invest in primary prevention, taking action to prevent health and social problems before their onset.”
–Nat. Center on Sexual Exploitation

Our Power Over Predators (POP) prevention education materials empower youth to identify predators and protect themselves from sexual exploitation. It is a plug-and-play series of lessons with interactive exercises and student video clips. POP can be downloaded FOR FREE and used in a home, classroom, or assembly.

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. – Nelson Mandela

Training

We train professionals how to identify and respond to victims of sexual exploitation. Law enforcement agents and those who work with youth are on the front lines of this battle: healthcare and mental health providers, educators, social service providers, youth home staff, juvenile court workers, and faith community youth workers.

Failing to recognize victims of exploitation condemns them to hopelessness. Responding to them in a way that opens doors to trust encourages them to step out of the silence and get the help they need.

88% of sex trafficking victims go to a healthcare provider, aren’t identified, and go back to the abuse.  – Annals of Health
